During this show, My dear friend Gina Pizza gave a call from the road. She was calling from under the still-intact rear appendages of the 35-foot tall “Babe the Blue Ox”… up at the Trees of Mystery in Klamath. The blue ox is the companion of Paul Bunyan…both giant statues that cannot be missed off the highway. Unfortunately Babe’s head fell off last November, due to structural rot inside the statue. Gina later sent me a photo she took last December.
Says Gina, “This photo was taken before your show in december. i talked to the folks in the gift shop and they said his head just fell off. it was about 50 or so years old. but apprently he will have a head again soon which will be a nice new head better than ever. and one of the guys that works there said ‘there’s a head there, it’s just really tiny.’ and it’s true they put a tiny ass head there for the time being.”

Another listener called during this show and suggested a “Babe” song to dedicate to the poor headless ox. I came up with three “Babe” songs.
