Out sick! Mad Dr. fills in Feb. 3

10th February 2007

I thought it was the “stomach flu”… but learned from a caller that it was not technically the flu, which is a respiratory illness. What I probably had, according to Susan, was “gastroenteritis.” Ew.

Here is an informational link on gastroenteritis. I learned a lot!

Anyway, I was sorry to miss out on the show, but thanks to Mad Doctor Matt for being “on call” for me that day.

Here is Matt’s playlist! I found his “alternative therapy” most healing while I laid there listening. (-:

Happy Groundhog Day! Early Spring!

2nd February 2007

“Punxsutawney Phil is the only true weather forecasting groundhog. The others are just impostors.”

Punxsutawney Phil’s Website

Feb. 2 (Bloomberg) — The groundhog called Phil emerged from his burrow this morning in central Pennsylvania and didn’t see his shadow, which according to a German legend signals there will be an early spring. Phil’s handlers removed him from his makeshift stump on a stage on Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney at 7:28 a.m. local time. They then said Phil hadn’t seen his shadow.”
